Installation

How to install MotionKit — from Figma Community or manually.

Install from Figma Community

The easiest way to get MotionKit. One click, automatic updates:

  1. Open Figma and navigate to the Plugins tab in the toolbar (or press /Ctrl + / and search).
  2. Search for “MotionKit”.
  3. Click Install.
  4. Open any file → right-click canvas → Plugins → MotionKit.

Or go directly to the MotionKit Figma Community page.

Manual / development installation

For development builds, offline use, or testing pre-release versions:

  1. Download motionkit.zip from the latest GitHub release.
  2. Extract the ZIP file to any folder.
  3. In Figma Desktop: go to Plugins → Development → Import plugin from manifest…
  4. Select the manifest.json file from the extracted folder.
  5. The plugin appears under Plugins → Development.

System requirements

  • Figma Desktop — recommended for best performance and full keyboard shortcut support.
  • Figma Web — works, but some shortcuts may conflict with browser shortcuts.
  • FigJam — not supported (FigJam doesn't support plugin UI panels).

Updating

If you installed from the Figma Community, updates are automatic. For manual installs, download the latest release from GitHub and re-import.
